We are a non-profit organization

working to alleviate poverty and protect the environment by promoting improved cookstoves.

Our Stove

In cooperation with the University of California, Berkeley and internally displaced women in Darfur, Sudan, we designed the Berkeley-Darfur Stove — an innovative, low-cost biomass cookstove that uses 66% less fuel and emits 77% less smoke than cooking on an open fire.

Our Stove

The Problem

3 Billion People cook their food on open fires or rudimentary stoves, creating massive health, environmental and economic repercussions.

The Problem

Meet Alana

Alana is seeking refuge in Adjumani, Uganda due to the civil war in South Sudan. Potential Energy provided Alana and her family with a fuel-efficient cookstove. Now Alana spends less on fuel, and more on food for her family.

Our Impact

What We Do

Potential Energy believes that every home should be healthy, safe, and low-emission; we provide improved cookstoves to make that vision a reality.
